In music I don't attempt to be or play the leading role. Its beauty is not my beauty; it's beautiful in and of itself. Music only appears when I cease to exist and the joy inherent in the music is infinite.

IREK WOJTCZAK - saxophonist, composer, arranger, graduate of the Academy of Music, Gdańsk. In 2000, as one of the founding members of the Tri-Cities [Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia] group Groovekojad, he recieved the Polish music award
* FRYDERYK 2000 * for Best Alternative Music category of the year. In 2001, he won
* a POLISH DANCE AWARD 2001 * for best new artist.

* A GOLD RECORD 2008 * for "Melisa" Przemek Dyakowski.

As a session player, he has worked in both film and the theater on recordings for
Leszek Możdżer's transopera A Midsummer Night's Dream and the soundtrack for the film Segmnent 76 directed by Oskar Kaszyński. "Small Spaces" Elvin Flamingo GOLD REMI AWARD 2009 - HOUSTON - USA. In 2004, the Irek Wojtczak Quartet recorded the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim on Look to the Sky, and the following year they released Outlook, with all compositions by Wojtczak.
